An important message from our Co-Founder

Dear Valued Founders, Mentors, and Community,

As countries and businesses around the world adapt to our new reality, StartEd has listened and adapted our programs so that we can continue to be a resource for the global EdTech community.

Here’s how we are adapting:

Take Part From Anywhere

As the StartEd team on both coasts of the US are working from home, as likely you are, our programs are now available anywhere you are.

  • Take Part in Our Accelerator from Anywhere: To ensure the safety of our mentor and founder community, we will host our week-long Hyper Accelerators virtually. Our upcoming Hyper Accelerator gives founders from anywhere access to our mentor and investor communities across the US. Our Mentor Network is eager to work with companies that apply, and we are confident in our ability to deliver a fully virtual experience.

  • Extended Deadline for All Virtual Accelerators: In light of the recent disruption to the day-to-day routine of edtech founders seeking mentorship and resources, we have extended the deadlines. Though our accelerators are virtual the programming is designed to tap into the geographically-specific edtech ecosystem in each host city. Find out about upcoming program here.

  • StartEd’s Global Membership: Now, more than ever, the importance of a virtual community is apparent. We will continue to offer exclusive virtual events to our members which will include COVID-specific programming, including sessions on how to identify opportunity, create great learning products, mitigate short-term risk, and navigate access to funding. If you are interested in joining our membership, you can learn more here.

  • Virtual Pitch Practice and Feedback: Any edtech founder can pitch their companies and receive knowledgeable feedback from the StartEd community (with the option of recording your session for later playback and review). If you are a seasoned edtech founder or investor and relish giving feedback, the invitation is open to join virtually. Please get in touch with us at staff@startedaccelerator.com

  • Publicly Available, StartEd’s Open Door: Our dedicated staff members at StartEd will hold bi-weekly webinars open to the public to talk about the challenges facing EdTech currently and in the near future. To start, join the upcoming AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the StartEd Team on COVID19's Impact on EdTechRegister today and stay posted for more free support in the days to come.

  • A note about EdTech Week: Over the past few days, you might have inquired about the status of the EDTECH WEEK. Rest assured we are continuing to build the program and lining-up amazing education and workforce speakers.

  • Community Resources: We understand that critical information such as school closures and funding is at the forefront of your minds. We are working on compiling a database of resources. If you know of something that should be on this list or have any helpful resources to announce, please reply to let us know.

We will continue to update you and please refer to the StartEd and EdTech Week websites for additional information. If you have any concerns about upcoming events or details please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at staff@startedaccelerator.com

We wish everyone safe navigation through this difficult time and encourage all of us to act with compassion and empathy.  We continuously strive to offer up a safe space that is a conducive learning and networking environment throughout our global EdTech community.

Sincerely,

Ash & The StartEd Team
