About the Speaker:
Jessica Millstone MPS, Ed.M, a leading expert on the use of technology at both home and school, is an emerging early-stage investor in women-led technology companies building products for the future of learning.
Prior to her current role as Managing Director of Copper Wire Ventures, Jessica previously served as Director of Engagement & UX Researchers at BrainPOP, collaborating with teachers and families on how BrainPOP’s beloved animated movies and interactive tools could be used in new and creative ways, as well the inaugural Education Fellow at the Joan Ganz Cooney Center, a research + innovation lab at Sesame Workshop dedicated to bringing educators, parents and kids closer together through their shared use of digital learning games, tools and toys.
She holds master’s degrees from New York University's Interactive Telecommunication Program and Bank Street College of Education, where she was a professor of instructional technology for 5 years, and is the mother of two teen- and tween-age children residing in Brooklyn, NY.
Many New Yorkers also know Jessica from her popular parenting talks, events, and teen-led panel discussions on the positive ways technology can support children’s learning and healthy social development, as well as her work as organizer of the NYEdTech Meetup, a nearly 9000-member professional networking organization that hosts monthly events for educators, entrepreneurs and investors working in the EdTech space.
